Ok we are coming up on the 12 hours mark for roll call. Again, just a
reminder to get counted, reply to: Roll Call - Stand Up for Users'
Group
This thread is to keep track of responders
So far
1 - Unaffiliated
2 - Internet Only UG's
13 - Not in the US (only listed this way to get a relative percent of
people willing to respond, see below, way below)
40 - US Mugs
Following the fuzzy math I used (assuming there are 256 active MUGs in
the US, I don't have access to the number outside the US, hence
separating out the US mugs from the rest. ) we are looking at 15% - 16%
of the possible MUGs are willing and able to respond to a list roll
call.
Europe should be waking in a few hours - some of you have chimed in,
let's hear from the rest of you. About 23% or nearly 1/4 of all roll
call responders are non-US, glad to see it! (Wow, when I was a kid, I
would have never dreamed that someday I would correspond with people
in Singapore, China, Emirates, Denmark, Germany, Turkey, Melbourne,
Caracas - I would say Canada here, but, somehow as a kid I wasn't THAT
insulated. :-D )(Hope I didn't miss anyone - it's getting late here on
the east coast of the US)
Let's see how high this will go.
(It can of fun, and I'm starting to feel a community grow :-) that's a
good thing!)

19 - US Mugs
using the base number of 256 US mugs (it a best guess) we are still
only hearing from 7.5% - 8% of the potential MUG's - not really
scientific at all - just to be illustrative.
Also, the balance of the world needs to chime in (sssh, I think they
might be sleeping :-D )
Give your MUG a SHOUT OUT!! (respond to: Roll Call - Stand Up for

I'll try and keep a count of who is responding - use Roll Call -
Stand Up for Users' Group to actually get counted.
Interesting fact - the Apple site lists ~512 UG's in the US (so the
doesn't even count the balance of the world, I don't know how to get
that data). One point of the exercise is to see how many MUG's are
"plugged in" - Let's assume the 50% of the list are now defunct
groups - 256 will be the number to compare to.
So far we've had responses from:
At 12:45 EDT 10/18
After only a short time we have:
1 - Unaffiliated
2 - Internet Only UG's
2 - Not in the US (only listed this way to get a relative percent of
people willing to respond)
7 - US Mugs
So, between 2% to 3.5% of the US MUG's (see note below) are hearing
this and responding.
sorry non-US MUG's I just don't have those numbers - it would be very
interesting, though, if non-US MUGS responded in larger numbers than
US MUG. Keep it coming!
there is a range there depending on ow you want to count internet
only - I didn't check to see if they were included on the Apple
website.
