Originally established as "The Delaware Valley Macintosh User Groups" in 1997; becoming Tri-State MUG Team in 1999; evolving into "The Mid-Atlantic Apple & Macintosh User Groups Team" (aka MaMUGs) in 2002; and, in February of 2005, becoming "The Apple Groups Team." We now have more than 100 member user groups in the U.S., U.K., Central America, South America, and the E.U.. Great people involved as vendors, consultants and public/community user groups as well as private, corporate, and education-based groups make up our membership.
TAGteam works with our media partners, MacsimumNews.com, MacOS Ken (daily Mac news podcast) and The Video Sandbox with Frank Petrie so that there is information -- serious and silly and fun and about more than Macs -- that groups can actually take to their meetings and either watch, listen or talk about (depending on what is really appropriate for a given group).
Our board of directors is comprised of some wonderful, patient and experienced user group leaders/Mac users who are always generous with their time and energy. I'm grateful for their involvement and feel lucky to have them contribute their time. _______ On a personal note, and to respond to some earlier posts: There are some great people here on this list - even if I'm having a bad day or if someone else is, WinHappens. ;) I find the list to be well managed and I know that the UGAB does more than most people realize. They help groups on the large scale. Knowing your group, your area and your own ways of making it work appropriately for your own group are all a part of that bigger picture. Again, for myself and TAGteam, it is really fun to be a small part of this big community...especially when we all get together.
