Hopefully, with close "communication" between the leadership (all are
informed, aware of all aspects of the running of the group), this
eventuality can be easily, though sadly dealt with. Does everyone know
the who's, what's and wherefore's? Is more than one officer listed/able
to access outside sources used to conduct club business (contacts,
password, logins, copies of documents, etc)? If your group holds a bank
account, are there at least 2-3 signatures on file? Do you have an
annual budget, have minutes, bylaws, standard rules of practices that
anyone can jump in and follow? Not that you need to have all of these,
but is there some type of formal/informal organizational planning
taking place? AND does someone have all of this written down? If not,
it's worth considering having this discussion with other leaders of your
group. Communication is key here...and if I may say, the most import
part of all inclusive to a user group's life blood - from leadership to
meetings to the membership - the more valuable you communication, the
more one can perceive as the successful running of a MUG.
