Have you considered a Content Management System like LucidCMS?
A Content Management System makes it easy to add, organize, and
edit your website's information.
I second Dennis' recommendation; a good content management system
will go a long way toward making your site more dynamic. You can
easily do blogs, RSS feeds, articles (with or without comments), add/
remove/change pages, search, etc.
You'll still need somebody to work up a template for the site (or
either use a premade one), but using a CMS means you can give
different members the ability to update things at any time, and they
don't have to worry about using Dreamweaver, iWeb, etc. ... and you
can restrict their ability to edit, so you don't have to worry about
them accidentally (or intentionally) messing up something else on the
site.
Our web site (www.chattamac.org) has been up for all of two or three
months now, but we've been able to slowly add information to it over
that time and have a relatively complete site ... and we've only got
7 members right now!
We're using Drupal (www.drupal.org) for our site, but it is
admittedly a bear to set up and learn ... thought there is an immense
amount of flexibility. If you don't want to spend months learning
something, Joomla (www.joomla.org) might be a good choice ... it's
significantly easier to set up, has a pretty large userbase, and is a
good bit friendlier out-of-the-box. If you have anybody in your MUG
that does web design and knows PHP, they can probably whip up a
template for the site relatively easily.

Jeremy
