Allen, your member came up with a great idea. :) I'm glad you shared it. I bet it works to bring in more people!

Seeing the other printing options at makestickers.com prompted me to think to share my own printing find with everyone here. For a years now, I've been using <http://masterpiecebanner.com> for my MacGathering™ and Party For The People banners - and for metal signs for my car. Maybe you can hang a banner outside of your meeting location during the meeting? That would spread the word. Maybe you're invited to local festivals, expos, events, and the banner can come in handy. Or maybe someone would like to put metal signs on his car from time to time.

I get a 12" x 24" sign for just $30. You have to print 2 of the same at a time, though, so it's 2 for $60. Free shipping. No tax for groups outside of California. They are great on the back of SUVs or vans, or on the passenger doors of most cars. (There cannot be a ridge on the car's metal though, or the sign will come off. And the car door must be metal. I'm not sure about Saturns.)

Metal signs: <http://masterpiecebanner.com/magsigns/index.html>

They also do stickers this size. You could print a bumper sticker x- up in the area, then cut it to get may bumper stickers, or they'll cut them for you for an extra fee. I have not calculated out the pricing for this. I haven't tried stickers yet.

I also get my banners from them, and they're incredible banners because they are a photographic process, printing from a high quality jpg. Some of you may have seen the Party For The People banners during the last two Macworld Expos. (The first year, that banner was printed by Kinkos. It was plain and the binding came apart by the end of the party. It's the next 2 that were so great.) The banners are sooo much less costly than other banner printers and sooo much better. Prices start at $129 for up to 3' x 5' and $149 for up to 3' x 12' with free shipping and no tax outside California.

I don't have any stake in this company and don't get anything if you use them. I'm just incredibly impressed at the quality, pricing, and service.

Great Job Allen, thanks for sharing!

Anyone else have a story of a promotion or a fundraiser that was a big success?

I'm sure lots of MUGs would like to hear about them!

Good Morning, All

If you are looking for an inexpensive, easy and fun promotional item for your group, this turned out to be very popular with ours.

You know those black and white oval international bumper stickers? About a year ago a member of our group had some printed that had OSX on them. He sold them for $1 to get back his money. They were a HUGE hit. TriangleMUG is printing more plus adding our web address. We are going to give one to each TriangleMUG member (that attends a meeting) and everyone else can purchase for $1 each.

Go here to see ours:

Here is where we ordered them

Additional matter, just so you'll know: I have no connection to this company printing these stickers. hey, it was a good idea and very popular with our group,. In fact, I have twice been flagged down in parking lots with inquires about the stickers.

It's fun , cheap, quick, easy, seems to be popular and can promote your group.
