Membership Levels!
At Apple Corps of Dallas (http://www.acd.us/)
We have 3 membership levels (one is relatively new)
Primary Membership at $30/year.
Associate membership at $10/year
and Online Membership at $20/year
There can be no "Associate Membership" without someone in the clan
holding a "Primary Membership" and there is a limit to how many
Associates Per Primary Membership.
The "Online Membership" is the newest.
The reason for its creation is two-fold.
a) the DFW area is REALLY S-P-R-E-A-D out.
In the "old days" when the population density was far less than it is
now, it wasn't a lot to hop in the car and head off to a meeting
across town or across the metroplex; And we've got members spread all
over the place in the area. With higher fuel, population density
(slower travel) and less time to do things, we wanted to accommodate
folks who felt (for whatever reason) that they may not ever come in
for the General Monthly Meetings could still "be a part of the crowd"
and "still among friends" (with our free tech support through online
SIGs and a Forum provided by ACN/ACD members).
and
b) Due to some popularity of the AppleGram publication we have AND
the personage we have in our membership, we've had requests from
people living overseas, and in California, Arizona and a few other
places other than Dallas-Ft Worth ask if they could join too (but
felt they'd never make the monthly meetings) so we set up a Online
members-only level which is bringing folks in from all over.
So to that end I designed a Public and a Private Website system for
Apple Corps.
Apple Corps of Dallas has seen its membership rolls increase about
10% in the last 5 months after falling substantially for years...
Now, at PlanoMUG <http://www.planomug.com/> we have one 2 levels of
Membership.
a) Members
b) and people who don't know we exist but we'll find them and make
them members one day...
