My 2 cents,
I, as well as many of the others, had no idea that Apple would offer
this option.
So waiting would never have entered our minds.
Who of the enthusiasts could wait anyway?

By the time Apple make the NFR copies available for ordering, we

late,
again.
Apple has offered you an NFR within ONE week of release. Seems
reasonable to me. If you can't wait a week, that is not Apple's
problem, that's yours. It's a WEEK, not a month! You need to keep a
perspective.
The ONLY thing I would think could be offered is a download of the
image file, same as developers get. If you have the bandwidth and
inclination to download a multi-gig file, then you would have it
faster so that is where I would spend my energy on change.
