Chances are very high that his account has NOT been compromised, nor is
it actually being used to send that spam.
More likely, those spammers are just putting his return email address on
their spam messages when they send them. So he gets the Undelivered
notices. This is not preventable, no more than you can prevent someone
from putting your home address on a postcard before sending it via the
US Post Office. Nothing you can do about it. In my experience, it will
ebb after a few days or weeks.
However, just in case, it's also not a bad idea for GAD to change his
dot mac password.
