I wanted to inform the group, that if anyone else is having sign-in issues you may want to read our story.
Our earliest ambassador, Bob had no problem using the ambassador program. After a few years we had another ambassador, but he got busy and didn't use it much. He actually logged in using Bob's info, because he didn't have time to change it, and it worked. Then he moved on and the new ambassador tried to log in and got nothing but grief, I don't think he ever really figured out why he could never seem to get on the site and after a year of sporadic efforts, gave up. Then we had a Navy man from our group step up. He was getting on the Apple Ambassador site and doing a few things, but he also did have issues. Then it was my turn. I would sign in, still using the old password. I'd not get on, Apple would send me my pw and I'd login. It might work then, but I'd come back and it wouldn't work.
Well, I have other things to do and so I was changing over and thought since I can log in I'd change everything before I left and see if that didn't smooth out the transition process. I updated all the officers and then quit as ambassador by unselecting my designation. Then it became available for me to assign it to another person, which I did. It even showed the log-in and pw in text, so I took a screen shot; copied the URL sign-in page and sent all the info to the new rep. I think these steps or a step-by-step for ambassador transfer would be helpful to new UG ambassadors as well as old.
The key to our improved status is that our old pw was letters only. Now the site requires letters and numbers. Our password was even sent out by Apple, but had no numbers. So it was wrecking havoc with our signing in. I changed that so now we are compliant.
Lesson: review sign in and pw requirements if you are having issues signing in. I perceive that our issues will now be resolved.
