No, any drive should do, the only trick is to repartition the drive
first using Disk Utility.
Go to the Partitions Tab and then click on the "Options" button.
Choose Apple Partition Map if you are booting a PowerPC Mac, or choose
GUID if you are booting an Intel Mac.
Each partition scheme us unique and only understood as a bootable
drive to the corresponding processor.
