Or maybe the list has outlived its usefulness to UG leaders?
Certainly it seldom does anything for me in my UG volunteer work
anymore. Listmom, am I off base?
I think it is very appropriate to answer how to questions from anyone
on the list. BUT, in this case the question was about a piece of 1995
software. REALLY!?!
from the OP
As my iMac is getting older, I've been wondering what my options are.
Well, not to be too smart assed about it, but, how about giving the
21st century a try. We are about to start year 09.
Seriously, though, FileMaker Pro is too much for a mailing list.
Search google.com/mac for a mailing label program. You might even get
pretty close using addressbook.app. A concern is that you have been
using an outdated piece of software for so long that the database
format may be a pain to convert to a newer program.
If you can't find exactly what you are looking for in features, namely
page saving features, re-examine your workflow.
The one piece of advice I will not give is advice on how to keep Mac
Classic alive. Take it off life support, it's dead. UG's that still
support classic are not doing themselves a favor. Mac Classic is only
for novelty use, not, production use.
