Fair enough?
Fair enough, but to clarify my position regarding your response in
which you said:
I rarely squash a question of this kind on the list because I never
know if
the same or a similar question has been asked during Q & A during a
group
meeting (leaders helping members or vice versa). While there are
certainly
many techie lists out there and this IS a list for "leaders to
exchange
ideas and discuss topics related to Apple user groups,"
My interpretation of the AUGD list's intent is to provide a forum
primarily for discussing UG _operations_ rather than specifics such as
actual Q&A questions or a piece of hardware or software. Issues such
as how to draw members, encourage volunteers, the pros and cons of
various venue types or dues structures, locating presenters or
presentation topics, etc. have all been part of the discussions of the
past that allowed our UG to try out the ideas and experiences of other
groups when our own ideas ran dry. Those were the aspects of the AUGD
list that were _not_ available on all those other techie lists and set
it apart in its value to UG leaders IMHO. Maybe this interpretation of
the list intent is wrong or the list itself is shifting (or my
perception of it.)
