I understand where you're coming from but unless there is specific
information in the ADC's version of the "read first" file that shouldn't be
seen by the other groups accessing these disks then I don't understand why
standard enterprise documentation practices aren't being followed. By all
groups receiving the same documentation costs are lowered, workflows are
improved and versioning control becomes much easier.

Unfortunately the program you referred me to is for the USA & South America
only. In Australia it works differently. Apple Australia did a deal to sell
their products through some major department store chains (think Wal-Mart)
to increase their exposure.Apple organized staff through an employment
agency for these stores and gave these employees the ACN tittles and shirts.
Unfortunately these positions are poorly paid and rather than getting
professionals they have a bunch of young guys with only a minimum knowledge
of Mac's. Sales experience was the number one pre-requisite.
I personally started using computers in the 1970s (DEC VAX etc), Commodores,
Amigas', Apricots etc in the 1980s and Macs since the 1990s. Currently I run
a network with around 30 Macs in my home businesses including the 7 X
Serves, X Serve Raid etc mentioned in earlier posts.I have over 30 years of
experience in retail and own 3 business's. I have numerous qualifications
including Diploma in Business Management, Cert IV in Workplace Assessment &
Training, Cert IV Help Desk (Apples support staff only need a Cert II) along
with another half dozen certifications. Just last year I commenced a System
Administration Diploma course. I topped the first year with a Distinction in
every module & a 98% grade average.I even ended up being asked to take on
the role of Student Association Representative for the campus.
By the way this course was Windows based but I did everything on my MacBook
Pro using OS X whenever possible. In the end I had OS X, Parallels (Windows
XP Pro & Ubuntu) & VMWare (Windows XP Pro, Windows Server 2003 & Windows
Server Longhorn beta) all running on my machine and no matter what was
thrown at me my Mac not just did it but did it better & faster than anyone
else on their PC's. I'm known on campus as the Mac Man.
So the crux of the matter is I'd back myself over the Australian version of
ACN's in these department stores any day. I'll stick to asking questions on
Mac Forums & Mailing Lists when necessary.
