- Thread-topic: How to utilize newsletter columns
Hi fellow MUG leaders,
Last month I sent a message about a great resource that the Apple User Group
Advisory Board provides for our newsletter editors...
<http://ugab.typepad.com/ugresources/>
This month I wanted to show you what our wonderful TEAM did with it. Jon
Jones is our Editor and Maria Ayala is our newsletter designer. They work
well as a team and by dividing up the work neither one of them gets
overwhelmed as the deadline come near.
There are tons of reviews on the Ugresouces site and a new column by Lesa
Snider King. She writes for O'reilly and has a column in several different
Mac or Photoshop magazines. She is submitting a monthly digital photography
column to the UG Resource list for Editors to use for MUG newsletters. She
does not make any money from it.
LOL last week I showed this to a PC editor and she begged permission to use
it because it fit perfectly for the PC group (that now has lots of the
members switching to Macs). Needless to say Microsoft does not have a UG
team like UGAB, or a Tom Piper like we do.
Although Lesa's column was a little long, Jon just used a link, in the
newsletter, that allows readers to click right from out pdf newsletter over
to her site to finish reading it. It really is a win win for all.
Here is our July 2008 issue for you to see as an example of what I am
talking about.
