Apple is a multinational company that has branches and repair centres in almost every country.
Griffin is not.

Asam, I'd suggest that you do as UK consumer law says you should and return the faulty unit/s to amazon for a repair, replacement or refund. That should really be your first port of call and really is the only one you can enforce.
You've also already had some suggestions from folks on the MMUG mailing list, including someone who has gone through the griffin process with a positive outcome.
Maybe it's time to take this off the AUGD list which isn't really the best place for this.
