For the New Year I am hoping to expand our website (mmoos.net) and

I was considering creating a password-protected section of our site
where I could post deals and other info I have gleaned from User
Group sites and vendors.
Any other ideas?
Post the 'public info' to your website so that both existing and
potential members know they can get the specials etc... and if
possible post each special as a separate news item.
Then create a special mailing list that only members belong to and
send a semi-regular email newsletter to them... that a) points to the
individual news item on the website and b) includes the members only
info.
Do NOT include the entire story in the email newsletter - make members
look at the website - this way you can track which stories are of
interest to your members, and they may stumble across other news on
your website :)
Also by having the email newsletter, you have a reason to remind
members about your website and other services/products/meetings etc
rather than relying on them to visit your website when/if they think
of it
