Hi Pete, Happy Holidays,
The M@LV (Mac at Lehigh Valley) Group has four forums: 1) a public website MacAtLehighValley.org, 2) a Yahoo! Group which is private 3) the member email list and 4) our newsletters which are very professional. We send out the vendor User Group deals by email to members. Then we post them on the Yahoo! Group which is for members only. We don't give out email addresses, but members can contact each other through the Yahoo! Group which works like this list. The Yahoo! Group is free, and easy to set up. We use it to archive items that are for members only.
We also like the bundles which a number of different sources have such as MacUpdate, Apparent Software, Mac Sale, SmallDog, MacBundle, MacSnack, etc.
Cheers, Steve Henning, Membership Director
Mac@LehighValley Users Group
I am the president/Ambassador/primary presenter/chief cook and bottle washer for our group. For the New Year I am hoping to expand our website (mmoos.net) and info we give out at meetings to give members more access to vendors' User Group deals. I know that some of this information is not for public consumption, so I was wondering how some of you handle this.
I was considering creating a password-protected section of our site where I could post deals and other info I have gleaned from User Group sites and vendors.
Any other ideas?
