Per my colleague, Russ Conte in Chicago
Hi everyone,
It was my initial post that got the topic started. First and
foremost, I'd really like to thank everyone who replied so far, and
I hope that more replies continue to come in.
My totally honest perception is that our arrangement with the store
has been quite good. There have been some bumps, but I can clearly
see some huge plusses on both sides that vastly outweigh the bumps.
For example:
Today we have read of a wide range of response from and interaction
with Apple STores.
There does not seem to be any consistency. Rather, some contradictory
experiences.
And then we have Mr.Jobs who, it is true, has not given much
attention or credit to User Groups yet he gave the ok to start the
advisory board and the Apple Website includes a MUG locator,
directory of User Groups.
Also, We in Chicago also have noted a frequent turn over of the
individual introduced to us as the THE Store manager.
That revolving door alone added to our issues as there seems to be
little continuity of policy, toward us
So what does all this mean? I think that is the question.
Does Apple leave it up to the personalities and biases of each manager?
Is this something the Mac-Apple User Group Community, as an entity,
needs to explore with Apple?
Sincerely
Barbara Passman
