<soapbox> I am the chief cook and bottle washer for our small user
group in Western Michigan. We're so far away from an Apple store that
it isn't an issue with us but it deeply saddens me to read how user
groups have been treated by Apple stores. Most of us have been on the
roller coaster ride with Apple over the last 20+ years and it's my
opinion that user groups helped keep Apple running in the lean years.
Without local user groups for support many users would have gone away
from Macs. Shame on anyone working for or representing Apple for
treating user groups with anything but the respect they deserve.
Without us there might not even be an Apple Store or anything else
Apple for that matter. Thank you to all of the great people on this
list that support and maintain user groups!</soapbox>
