Ditto here on considering it essential to remember to include all pertinent
info in group communications.
I see a lot of user group web sites that presume the viewer already knows
information about the group. I consider it a fatal flaw.
In the case of the group I'm part of.... Our meeting location is not easy to
find (in the facilities of a hospital), so a long time ago I created a
visual set of directions to our conference room. These directions are in
pdf form and feature pictures of notable landmarks along the way. People
have found it very helpful.
Ilene's example made me think of a band I have friended/become a fan of.
They became known via youtube and they rarely venture out of florida. Every
time they announce a gig, they send out scant location information because
they are so used to communicating only with their family and friends. I've
asked them to please keep in mind their fans around the country!
