Time Machine backs up every two hours, so if things get really whacked I can go back. Still, as much as I dislike Lion it is going to be something we are stuck with so I may give it until January 1, 2012. If I could switch mail programs and export all of my mail boxes, intact, I might consider it. But for now mail is the least of my worries, mail is doable in Lion.
I wonder if I'm the only one who has had issues with finder? You type in a search and it finds nothing. But if you type in the exact, and fully with the extensions it can find it? Wonder if it's because it can't handle looking in all of the duplicate folders that have the same file? Just look at your home directory in finder, you will find you have "Documents" folder, a documents alias and a documents alias 2? I have to ask, WHY? I didn't create them and they all have the same 297 files inside? Not all folders are duplicated just documents so far and I only noticed it tonight. I have been using a mac since 1987 and never have I experienced so many screwy things in an OS.

I quit saving my mails on my Mac years ago when I began using Gmail. I can access my mail from any computer that way. All I need is an internet connection and those are ubiquitous by now.
But this is a discussion about Lion, not email.
Lion is not everything everyone hoped. But, many new Mac users are purchasing Macs with Lion and they are none the wiser. Plus, if one needs to use iOS 5 then Lion is a must.
Sorry your Lion experience has been sour. Hopefully you'll find a suitable solution soon.

Well, one could do that if they want to loose 3 months of mail and other data. I don't want to lose anything I just want my OS to be the great OS apple meant for it to be and that means SL. I wonder if anyone has done a global poll of how many people actually LIKE Lion! I bet that would shock apple in a BIG way and they'd jump on making things right again.

I'm hoping I can just install SL over lion. I kind of accepted mail in classic mode but still hate it. I hate not being able to work on something and save it as something different without first making a duplicate, both in text edit or preview. Lion is by far the worse OS apple has put out and why they did it I'll never understand. I'm telling everyone I know to NOT upgrade, it will ruin your life.
