Haven't had a problem with the three WD's that I've deployed in the past six months or so.
That being said. Backups are your friends -- you can't have too many of either!

Helloooooo Gary! I haz a question. I'm going to replace the
hard drive in my mid-2009 MBP. Currently it has a 160gb in it and I was
looking to put a 500gb in. I found on Best Buy's website a Western
Digital Scorpio 500gb model WDBABC5000ANC-NRSN for $54.99. I have a $25
off coupon from them so that's why I was going to buy there. Whats your
opinion on WD HDD's and would this be one you would use.
I have already made a Lion boot disk so thats taken care of and I
also do Time Machine backups daily so restoring my stuff won't be a
problem. Main reason I'm doing this is because I installed windows using
bootcamp and only made a 20gb partition because I'm not going to use it
much and only have >1gb of free space. Never did I think I'd come
close to filling up a HD but with all my music and movies, I guess its
possible!
Some help here. I am not familiar with the new Western Digitals. What's your opinion.
