I read the original message as much more conversational than this and, though I know what you mean, I can't quite overlook the irony of these rules about not making rules for others... As someone who dipped into this without being too involved, it does seem to me a lot of good points have been made about the pragmatics of what we advise (and we are in positions of trust) as opposed to the theoretical risks. There's a wide gap between those two...
