Hi Dave,
Do look at the spam sieve manual on how to do this - not sure if you're referring to them or not;) but he has scripts to ensure you can label things as spam (or not) in spamsieve.
Cheers,
Jason

I mean IMAP on the desktop, laptop, phone, etc. Then use a spam filter of choice running on a desktop computer (leave it always on) to filter the spam out from the inbox, and into a spam folder. The great thing about this is that due to the cool way IMAP works, the spam is now also filtered on the iPhone. Ahh, relief!

If you have multiple email accounts, it can put the spam into a spam folder unique to each account, or throw it all into 1 spam folder on one of the email accounts, Your choice. Also look up "Spam Drone" at the SpamSieve website for some super-power tips. About $30 & upgrades have been free for the past 10 years or so.

If not, then the only good excuse is that your ISP allows a too-small allocation for email. In which case, it's time to reconsider that ISP or hosting plan. I've found IMAP to be a good technology well suited for people with multiple devices.

If anything SS sometimes does not catch things, but that is so rare it doesn't really matter. People can still re-send or even, gosh!, phone me. This has been an interesting discussion tho and I might do a test of SD to see how it works.
