This has always been a problem. We want you to entertain us each month but we won't tell you what to do. Asking people what they want is usually a waste of time because they don't send back the survey. You can always look over the group at the meeting and say, "Jim, let's get together and pick next month's program." Jim doesn't have to do the program, he only has to make sure it happens. "We all know Will. He is involved in Graphic Design. He is going to show some tricks with Pages to do a family summer newsletter or the dreaded Christmas newsletter or some other thing." This way it isn't "What does Victoria have planed for us, it is what has Jim got planed for us." If more people put some planing into the program, It isn't always going to  be on Excel every month.

Sooooooooo! Do something different. UTube is a fantastic resource. 

Try this. Is there a Michales or AC Moore craft store near by. See if someone there could do a talk on computer generated crafts that they can show. Maybe they can do something with a Cricket machine which cuts out designs on paper or card stock and then you glue the card stock together.

Or if there is a big book box store (Barns & Noble, BAM) or the local county library. They may be able to explain the ebook world. Most libraries have ebooks that they can download to your phone or iPad.

Being the program person is not easy. In most cases, being the  "queen of program" stops being fun after a few months.

Hello Victoria,

Many software developers today have Youtube videos or demos of their software available. I have come to find those to be a great resource. There is a limited about of things I can talk with my group each month, so I search out these demo videos to use with our group. 

Youtube is also a great resource for people doing tutorials.
