Good morning, all. I'm trying to write an Automator workflow that
will import a large WAV file into iTunes, converting it to AAC. I'm
using mplayer to record Car Talk from my local radio station and then
making a bookmarkable AAC out of it. The resulting file is on the
order of 650MB or so. iTunes will take about 10 minutes to convert
the file. When I run the workflow, the "Import Audio File" action
fails after a couple of minutes with the error "iTunes got an error:
AppleEvent timed out. (-1712)", displayed in Automator.
Is there a workaround for this, or another approach I should be taking?
I really want to love Automator, but every time I try to do something
with it, I get hung up with something little like this (or having to
write my own applescript action) that sends me back to the drawing
board.
Thanks,
B
