Thanks for your help. Do you know how I would automate this to launch every 30 mins or so? I'm not sure how to open the script in iCal. When I go to choose it, the automator action is greyed out.

With Leopard and Tiger you can use launchd to control this. A great app called Lingon can be used to help configure a plist file for this purpose. The basic idea is to create an application from your workflow, then use launchd to launch the app every 30 mins.
Best advice I can offer to you is to first launch the application manually using the command line. Usually something like, "open path/too/foo.app" will work. Once you have that copy past it into the command portion of the Lingon setup and you're as good as done.
