Have you looked at Doug's Scripts? http://dougscripts.com

I have received thousands of audio files with corresponding with an excel sheet. It seems the composer has sent itunes files and the information: name, date, track number etc. in an excel sheet.

The name of each music track corresponds with the name in the excel file. I'm looking to automate the process of putting the corresponding excel fields into the corresponding itunes fields.
Perhaps with doug's Make Video Tags?

if it accepts variables in the fields (i've just watched a lesson from Ben Waldie, they can be very useful), you would then need to get Excel data line by line, assigning each column to a field in Make tags. i don't know how to do that, i'm just supposing.

I've not been able to figure out a workflow that can take this info seamlessly into itunes. I assume I'm looking for an IF, THAN task where if the name of the music track corresponds to the name filed in excel then fill in the corresponding fields with the associated information.

Any direction / help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Manually entering the volume of files we're talking about is not an option. There are just too many.

Thanks,

Pete
