How does one SELECT text in a MSWord document so that it
can be passed to a follow-on action in Automator?
I'm afraid that there's not currently an Automator action for
selecting text in a Word document. You can get the manually selected
text, however, using the "Get Selected Content from Word Documents"
action. Or, you can get the entire contents of a Word document using
the "Get Content from Word Documents" action. Or, if you are familiar
with AppleScript, you could potentially use the "Run AppleScript"
action to select the desired text.
I would suggest letting Microsoft know that you're interested in an
action to select text, so they can consider it for a future release.
