am used to process large data files with MACRO programs embedded in Kaleidagraph 4.1.1 software that runs on my Imac.
Recently data file size is increased up to 10^7 data. However, Kaleidagraph software can process data only inside a data file window that has no more than 10^6 rows and 256 columns .
I perform now the following working flow. I split the large data file in 10 subsets of 10^6 data each. Data file subsets fill a single column of different data windows . Then I make the MACRO running. The results (an histogram of about 100 data) are written in another column of the data window. I repeat the MACRO for all the 10 data windows where the 10 subsets are. Then I copy the 10 columns of results in another data window for merging them properly and perform another calculation with another MACRO. This procedure is rather time consuming. The basic problem is that Kaleidagraph MACRO works only on one data window, while I need to work on more data windows.
Could Automator help me to shorten this time consuming procedure? If it could, could you suggest me how using Automator to automatize such a working flow? I am new with Automator. Therefore, I have not experience with it.
