Gabriela,

Once connected to the desired ethernet configuration, you can save that connection as a new Location in the Network Preference Pane. Then use the "Set Network Location.applescript" script included with your base OS X install that is located in "/Library/Scripts/UI Element Scripts as a template to create a script adapted to your needs. The particular line to be edited is the third statement in the 'tell application System Events' block that begins with 'click menu'.

Joel thank you!

I cannot believe how difficult it's to explain my problem!

Here's a screencat of what I want to be automated: http://screencast.com/t/RFUmqXbPJ1YB
Do you have a script for that? I failed writing one.

on error error_message
display dialog error_message buttons {"OK"} default button 1
end try
end open

Now all you need to do is fill in the blanks.

what I'm trying to do is connect to my ethernet network with my saved credentials. For some reason this doesn't happen automatically so i have to manually do it myself everytime. An applescript would probably be best, but I don't know how to script it.

K, I’m not sure exactly what you trying to do with Automator, but another alternative to the program is QuicKeys 4.0. You can down a trial version of it. I records mouse clicks much better than Automator. But again, I’m not quite sure what you’re trying to do.
