"Under documented" seems to be an understatement.  LOL  "Trail and error"?????   LOL.  Since I was in an area today of many old trails/roads/railroads, the typo caught my eye instantly.

I'd found those two book a week ago, but I was hoping to find something newer.  Guess there isn't any, so will be ordering both.  There is a note on the Amazon page about people also ordering an AppleScript book too, and since I'm relatively sure that what I want to do may necessitate AppleScript, I'll check out books on that too.

There are two things I want to do, for now anyway, and I'll start another thread for that.

I think that Automator is a great technology, but under documented. The things I have achieved have been through trail and error.

There a couple of books on Amazon, which might help, but it depends on what you want to do.

What is the thing you want to do?

Thanks, Dee Dee, but so far I've not found the answers there I want. That was one of the first sites I visited.

I found some services listed there, and I think one has an error. I'd like to change it w/Automator, but how can I when there seems to be such a dearth of readily available information. :-(

Dear Ken,

Maybe information on MacOSXAutomation will help you get started.

Is there any kind of manual or decent web page on learning how to use Automator? Not even Apple seems to have anything. :-(
