Hi Michelle,
coming from a Java background myself, I can tell I learned the basis of
Objective-C in about 2 weeks well enough to write an app with
Bluetooth. See:
http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/ObjCTutorial/
index.html
http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/ObjectiveC/
index.html
http://developer.apple.com/documentation/DeviceDrivers/Conceptual/
Bluetooth/index.html?http://developer.apple.com/documentation/
DeviceDrivers/Conceptual/Bluetooth/BT_Intro/chapter_1_section_1.html
And the frameworks provided by Apple for Bluetooth is more complete and
respects the official Bluetooth stack more than the Java API, mostly
regarding RfComm, which is an important part of the protocol. The only
problem is the portability of the app...

Hi everyone,
Just after a bit of advice regarding bluetooth stacks. I am planning
my final year bluetooth based project and have noticed that the built
in stack for os x seems to like the C variant languages. Coming from a
java background is it viable for me to attempt to learn and use
Objective C to write my app (as I've read it is similar to java), or
should I just use another stack (e.g the popular atinav SDK).
Any thoughts would be much appreciated,
Michelle
