Device Inquiry without GUI

Hi Members,

I am working on a project to provide a JSR-82 compliant interface for Java Applications to access Bluetooth functionalities. It is basically a JNI Library and some java stuff on top. I really want to reduce the native code to a bare minimum.
It works quite well in Linux and Windows, but on the Mac (which I prefer :-) I have that problem, that there does not seem to be a way to perform an inquiry without the Cocoa GUI. Connecting RFComm Channels and doing SDP-Searches don't seem to be a problem, but how can i start an inquiry and somehow get notified of devices in range ?

Thanks for your help
