Hi all,
I am implementing the Bluetooth paging discovery procedure in a simulator, based on the specification of Bluetooth BR/EDR.
From my understanding, only 32 out of 79 hopping frequencies are used in the page/ page scan phase. Such frequencies are derived from the MAC address of the device you want to discover. The frequency hopping scheme used by the paging device is then determined by the native clock of the page scan device. Is this correct?
Do the 32 selected frequencies only depend on the device's MAC address? If yes, there should be 1/32 probability for a paging device to successfully discover a listening device at once, assuming no clock synchronization.
Any help would be appreciated
Pietro Gonizzi
