For what it's worth, I've consistently measured 107m (353ft) in an outdoor open-area setting using iPad 3 and the TI reference key fob.  Naturally, any type of structure cuts the range significantly, and reconnection requires the devices to be much closer.

Getting my hardware to match that distance is another story :)
