From my testing restoration also fails when the user manually disables and reenables Bluetooth in settings.

If the app is suspended or killed when the user toggles BT on/off, the app is not resumed to receive a CM state change... So we're left hanging and disconnected in that scenario too. Even if it did resume on BT off, you cannot create a pending connection when BT is powered off as that is an illegal state to use the CBT Apis...(ie misuse case)

Be great to know if anyone had different experience or a suitable workaround..

Which I certainly will, but I'm hoping for more detail on current behaviour.

Firstly does this apply to kernel-panic induced reboots? I mean I assume it does, but from the user experience point of view it would be pretty surprising to find your medical equipment no longer connected when your phone reboots silently in your pocket.

Secondly, does "State restoration across a reboot is not currently supported" specifically mean an OS reboot or will state restoration not occur if the core bluetooth daemon crashes and then restarts?
