One thing, I need one with a UFL connector instead of the PCB or Ceramic
antenna as the unit is all metal and the antenna will be off the back.

One of the only modules I know of which meets this requirement is the Bluegiga BLE112-E:

Silicon Labs acquired Bluegiga in February, so technically now it's a Silicon Labs module, but the SDK is the same. It's a workhorse of a module and has been around since 2011 or so. The (free) SDK supports on-module applications using a simple scripting language, which in my experience should be entirely capable of remote control functionality (presumably triggered by button presses and GPIO interrupts).

The iOS example code for BLE applications which is provided by Bluegiga is not what I would call comprehensive, but the module is fully certified (Bluetooth SIG + RF regulatory bodies) and will work with any correctly written iOS app using CoreBluetooth. The InvasiveCode people have some good tutorials to get started with BLE development in iOS.

(Full disclosure, I have worked at Bluegiga since 2012 and came across when Silicon Labs bought them.)
