BLE Scan response while in background

Hello Gentlemen,

We have been working on an App in central GAP role with background execution mode and State Preservation and Restoration.

While in background we are able to detect and read the regular advertisement data and in particular the service UUID successfully from the peripheral device.

Based on this, the IOS App can trigger short term actions such as initiate connection to the peripheral.

However we could not manage to read the scan response data.

It would be very strange that IOS, while in background, allows to initiate connection but forbid reading scan response data.

Can anybody enlighten us on the possibility to read scan response while in background? how?
