Charles,
Whenever you see a problem such as this on your system, it's best to get
a backtrace of the crash, and file a bug about it. We'd never know
something is wrong without folks filing bugs.
To get the backtrace, launch Help Viewer (in
/System/Library/CoreServices/Help Viewer.app/Contents/MacOS/Help Viewer)
in gdb.
To file a bug, see
https://bugreport.apple.com/.
Once we get the bug, we'll be able to better diagnose what's going on on
your system, get your Help Viewer fixed up, and hopefully find whatever
is the source of your problems in our source, and fix it!
Thanks,
Jessica

The problem I ran into is that after trying to get my application
to see the help files (Using Andy Stone's MacTech article)
The ENTIRE Help Viewer system quit working.. No matter what application
I try and get help for, I get the error.
"The application Help Viewer has unexpectedly quit"
(no kidding.. I didn't even get a chance to TELL it to quit :-) )
No messages to the console.. (Though you can't even ask console for
help...)
The Life Preserver justs bounces a few times and the it dies..
So.. I give, what file's do I need to delete to get it working again?
Thanks
