I wanted the same for one of my windows as I find the ghosted inactive traffic lights messy. Try using a Panel window in IB and set the attribute for option "Utility Window (Panel Only)" - if you have the traffic light controls off they will be completely hidden.

I haven't checked, but doesn't this just make them smaller and look like a "pallete" utility-style window?

No they do actually fully disappear, make sure you test run the Panel (from IB or from your code) as otherwise IB interface does display the small traffic lights on the panel (just for changing their state while your still editing).

Regards,
Gary
