Actually, I think this needs to be addressed by Apple much moreso.

For example.. there are areas that Apple should take the lead in, that many apps required, and will give Cocoa developers a further advantage. In many cases this code already exists within Apple or in Private Frameworks. I.E. HTML, POP, IMAP, SMTP.

more string handling is needed, XML handling, etc...

There is not that much in the MiscKit that shouldn't be directly in the AppKit, or a related AppKitExtensions (like WOExtensions) (removing the MiscMerge and MiscGIS stuff from the equation.
