I have noticed that each time I upgrade Omniweb (and toss out the old version) I lose the preference. Just some rhyme/reason I noticed...

How is it every time I double click on a URL from a Carbon/Cocoa app (eg.
Sherlock) in 10.0.4 (also with earlier versions), it automatically
launches Infernal Explorer, even when I've (repeatedly) selected OmniWeb
in my System Prefs->Internet->Web. There's me trying to get my head
around DXF files & OpenGL in Cocoa, when nasty Microsoft apps start
loading up and requiring my attention.

Is something reverting the pref (sometimes it lasts a whole restart
without getting changed back), would it help if I write-protected the
appropriate file, or does Apple only approve of us using IE? Or is it a
covert attempt by Apple to sting Microsoft by adding to the anti-trust
monopoly charges... after all IE is now inseparably tied to MacOS X as
well as Windows, it appears. Why else is it the only 3rd party app to get
the Software update facility?

Sorry about the rant. What am I saying I'm not sorry at all it's made me
feel loads better...
