I've see this too. I took a quick peek around the system and noticed
the following files have references to Internet Explorer:
/System/Library/Components/KotoeriUIServer.app/Contents/Resources/KotoeriHelp/KotoeriHelp/shrd/OpnURL
/System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/HIToolbox.framework/Versions/A/Resources/English.lproj/Localized.rsrc
/System/Library/Preferences/Keyboard.preference/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/Keyboard.nib/objects.nib matches
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Admin.framework/Versions/A/Resources/English.lproj/user.gnutar
/System/Library/Speech/Recognizers/AppleSpeakableItems.SpeechRecognizer/Contents/Resources/SpeakableItems.app/Contents/Info.plist
/System/Library/Speech/Recognizers/AppleSpeakableItems.SpeechRecognizer/Contents/Resources/SpeakableItems.app/Contents/MacOS/SpeakableItems
I can't believe the browser is hard-coded in so many places.
