Certainly part of it. I'm sure many of us have seen what software can look
like when it's rushed out the door to take advantage of a marketing
opportunity.

No, I haven't; that's not my profession. But I have read hundreds of them
and, ironically, some of the best computer-related ones I've read were
published by O'Reilly. (Now that I think of it, however, all of their good
ones had an author's name attached...maybe that's a clue.)
