Thomas,
Thanks for posting this for Eduardo. I am often surprised that there are
people who don't know about ObjC++.
Thanks for the thanks ;-) (don't even know if this is correct in english..
.)
I have some idea why so many people don't know about Obj-C++. Tell me,
where in the /Developer/Documentation folder is it described? Even though
I did know it it, it took me a few seconds to find it because:
- it is not in /Developer/Documentation/Cocoa ;
- it is not in /Developer/Documentation/DeveloperTools ;
- it is not in /Developer/Documentation/Essentials ;
It is in /Developer/Documentation/ReleaseNotes, but if you are new to
environment, you usually don't bother to read the release notes, because
they are supposed to describe modifications with older versions you don't
know.
Generally speaking, I think that Apple should advertise Obj-C++ A LOT MORE.
There is certainly a lot of people who, like Eduardo, have huge C++
applications, and don't want to port them to Mac OS X because they believe
they have to rewrite all in Obj-C.
Yours,
Thomas Lachand-Robert
