First, I'd like to point out something that *I* think is important.

Imagine you have a mp3 player on Windows and a mp3 player on Mac.
Both have the ability to have playlists with folders in them.

Now, you add your folder by dragging it from the disk into the playlist
window.
You arrange your folders and music files. You save the playlist and
quit the player.

Now, you go to your file browser (Eg. Finder on the Mac), and change
the name of the
folder surrounding your mp3 folder.

You start your mp3 player again, and what happens ?

Windows: You will have to arrange *all* your mp3 files again
Mac: the playlist loads and works like it used to.

This is because files and folders on the Mac are not based upon text paths,
and that is one of the things I love most about the Mac.

Here's my opinion on type/creators, I definately don't want file extensions.
I do want normal Mac behaviour fileType and fileCreator.

I do not think that using file type and file creator codes is a hazzle at all.
-How often do you actually read from and write to files, where this can't
be done
easily when supporting file types and creator codes ?

People who comes from the unix world have to get used to file types and
creator codes.
-But people who comes from the Mac world have to get used to not having
these anymore.

Is a chair made of iron, just because someone write .iron on it instead
of .wood ?
Does a furniture change from a chair into a table, if someone changes
furniture.chair
into furniture.table ?

I'd say, you'd need to do some changes that isn't normal to do, if you
want to change
a table into a chair.

(A Starcraft map file shouldn't change behaviour, just because you rename it.)

Love,
Jens
