I do not think the source of Dl is more then several thousand lines
(probably even less). But the DL is heavily based on IndexingKit (witch
is yet another cool non-supported technology). Actually NeXT gave it the
IK to the MiscKit folks to convert it, but as I remember correctly
nothing happened from this project (I know this because I was one of
these bad boys to make big promises, without having the time to keep
them :-( ) So I will say 80% of DL is semi open source, and if one ports
the IconKit this will make probably over 90% of the work.
DL is one of the few cases where NeXT was very supportive, and the
developers community is to be blamed (I go now to the darkest corner of
my room and will stay ashamed for ten minutes ... ok I'm back, but still
very ashamed). I wish Apple donates EOF... this time I will put any
other task on side just to port it!

Sure: Apple has them... OTOH, I am pretty sure those sources are the
original NeXTStep API, not OpenStep; therefore the OSX port would not be
_that_ easy as with, say, TextEdit.
