Hi Everyone,
As many of you know, I've been griping at NeXT and Apple for
around ten years with my myriad petty grievances about my
favorite development environment (NeXTSTEP/OpenStep/Cocoa), and
karma being what it is, it's now my turn to be one of the guys
on the receiving end.
I just signed and returned my offer letter: I'm starting work
at Apple on 1/2/2002, in the Worldwide Developer Relations group.
Briefly, my job will be to assist and promote Cocoa development
both inside and outside Apple. Among other things, I'll
actually be getting paid for frequenting this mailing
list. ;-) (Oh, and: I *will* be writing code. Examples,
proofs-of-concept, wrap this or that in an Obj-C framework, that
sort of thing. Rather a lot of it, I expect.)
For all of my new colleagues at Apple, I'm thrilled and proud to
be joining you, working on the best stuff anyone's shipping
anywhere.
For all of my friends in the NeXT community, go easy on me,
guys! I'm doing my best!
BTW, in my last job, my title was "AppKit Wrangler". If any of
you have a cool idea of what to put on my cards, I'm open to
suggestions. ("Cocoa Curmudgeon"? "Objective-Advocate"? "Yet
Another Cocoa Hacker"?)
