Given the level of change in moving from indexing when saving a file to indexing while building a file and the fact that we no longer use indexing for the popup (the symbol popup uses a parser now), my guess is this bug no longer exists in current internal builds.

It seems like this implies a different bug than the one you described, doesn't it? If so, it sure would be nice to have this one fixed in an upcoming (soon) release also :-)
